Tariffs and zones

Blue lines: these mark the areas where parking is charged. Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays, except in certain areas. Parking in the city´s blue lines is subject to payment by an ordinary time rate, but there are also reduced rates for temporary parking.
The standard rate is € 1,00 per hour outside the restricted traffic zones and €1,20 per hour in the restricted traffic zones.
The reduced rate is valid everywhere: € 0,20 for 15 minutes of parking (short stay, for payments made only by parking meter); € 4,00 for 8 continuous hours of parking; € 70,00 for a calendar month.
You can find out which zones have pay parking at www.atac.roma.it/page.asp?p=23&i=15
In some areas with blue lines there are parking zones where there is a proximity charge to facilitate long-term parking in the presence of particular points of interest in the city (also valid for residents and designed for those going to work): € 0,50 for the first hour, € 0,50 for the second hour, € 2,00 for 12 hours, € 3,00 for 16 hours.
The streets where proximity parking is in force are listed in the sectors they belong to, see www.atac.roma.it/page.asp?p=23&i=15

Yellow strips: these mark the spaces reserved for free parking for the disabled or invalids.

Pink strips: an important measure for pregnant women and new mothers: areas designed for easier parking near outpatient clinics and hospitals.
