Description
Inaugurated in 1962 to promote Japanese culture in Italy, it depends on the Japan Foundation of Tokio. The building, designed by architect Yoshida Isoya, has been realized by reinterpreting in a modern key the Heian style (9th-12th century). Not only concrete but also wood surfaces cover the building. A garden realized according to the Japanese tradition with a lake, a fall and a bridge, decorates the building.
